INFINITE

Leader Of Infinite ; SUNG KYU

` Meet Infinite, the latest boyband import from Kimchi land, consisting of seven agile dancers who will undoubtedly wow you with their slick moves and synchronized dancing. Never missing a beat or step, there's Sung Kyu, Dong Woo, Myung Soo (also known as 'L'), Sung Yul, Hoya, Woo Hyun, and Sung Jong.

With Korean bands sprouting overnight like wild mushrooms after a rain, it's a tough challenge to even keep track of budding solo artistes or newbie groups - what more remembering the names and faces of seven different members in a band? This reporter spent a good hour watching Infinite's dance videos and poring through their photos before successfully nailing down their individual names and faces.

In Singapore for the first time, the septet performed alongside six other Korean groups at the Korean Pop Night 2010 concert held last weekend at the Expo hall.

In an exclusive interview with xinmsn before the event kicked off, the boys were full of giggles and shy smiles as they talked about their first official overseas gig since their June debut this year.

Sounding really happy to be in Singapore, the group's rapper, Hoya, 19, quipped, "We are really excited. This is our first time overseas!"

Considered the 'maknae team' (group with the latest debut) amongst their peers, this perhaps explains their odd choice of belongings brought along for their short trip to the sunny isle such as Sung Jong's pillow and Woo Hyun's mask sheets.

` Leader Sung Kyu
Formed by Tablo, the leader of Korea's most popular hip-hop indie band, Epik High, the Infinite boys underwent two years of rigorous training before making their debut. Leader Sung Kyu, 21, with his smiling eyes, expressed appreciation towards their Epik High seniors for their good advice and kind words.

With seven rowdy and maturing boys living under one roof, disagreements are bound to happen. Though there have been "no big fights" so far, they have had their fair share of little conflicts which helps bond them together says Hoya.

Despite their widely-acclaimed flawless dance choreography, nifty footwork and slick dance moves, Sung Kyu shared that they are "not really satisfied" with their debut so far. Like a true perfectionist, the 21-year-old promised to "practice even harder" to better their performances.

Currently prepping for their comeback, Sung Kyu revealed that a new album is in the works and declined to divulge more, coyly calling it "a secret".

"It'll be out in two to three months time. Do keep a look out for it!" he said.

Dong Woo, the group's rapper, jokingly added, "We'll be capable of showing you some eye-catching dances."

Filled with good ol' boyband pop, if their impactful debut track 'Come Back Again' is anything to go by, we say bring it on boys!
